Timeline

1920

In 1927, operations began in the city of Colón with the establishment of the first workshop. This was the seed of Industrias Metalúrgicas Cestari, founded by Andrés Cestari, born in Treviso, Italy, in 1891. The growing demand for artistic ironwork for the construction sector led the small company to initially focus on the construction of doors, windows, and balconies, among other products.

1930

Work begins on agricultural implements. Tanks for grain transport begin to be manufactured and installed.
These were used on trucks using the primitive bulk loading and unloading system using a sliding lower grate.

1940

The company began manufacturing pins and bushings for crawler tractor chains (produced under an American license). Technical service was also provided for the same tractors and supplied to companies across the country (including the National Highway Administration).
This first contact with crawler tracks paved the way for a vision that remains valid 77 years later and confirms that vision.

1950

After working for several years alongside his father, «Don Nino» Cestari joined the firm, which was called «Andrés Cestari e Hijo SRL», as a partner, taking over as head of the company from 1962.

1960

The company began manufacturing hopper and flatbed trailers for agricultural use, along with cabins for harvesting personnel. This marked a significant change in the company’s development. More than 3,000 units were manufactured and sold throughout the country and neighboring countries with great success.
These units were the predecessors of today’s self-unloading trailers. The company was named Industrias Metalúrgicas Cestari SRL, the same name the company bears today.

1970

Néstor D. Cestari, the founder’s grandson, joins the company. At the same time, the company ventured into the manufacture of various models of cages and semi-trailers.

1980

Cestari Metallurgical Industries S.R.L. takes a fundamental step towards its growth and modifies the harvesting system in our country. «Nino» Cestari designs a new grain transport equipment called the Self-Unloading Hopper Trailer.

1990

In 1995, after several years of marketing in Argentina, the first export to Paraguay was achieved.
Sales in Argentina continued to grow and expanded to neighboring countries such as Chile, Bolivia, Uruguay, and Paraguay. In 1998, a Cestari hopper arrived in Europe. The shipment consisted of the entire hopper, assembled on the ship’s side.

2000

Exports reached the Old Continent, in countries such as Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, England, the Czech Republic, Hungary, France, Germany, Poland, Belarus, Ukraine, Romania, among others.

The turn of the century brought innovations to Industrias Metalúrgicas Cestari, incorporating technologies and machinery. Thus, the forming shed was built and the plant sector was reequipped. The forming shed, with the incorporation of new technologies, allowed for greater production efficiency and lower costs.

2010

The dynamics of a company constantly innovating led to the development of a new line of hoppers using a truly innovative material: polymer.
A year later, it introduced its original plastic hoppers made of high-quality engineering polymers, opening up a new niche for the Argentine machinery market.

2020

In 2014, the Spare Parts Center was established and offers 24-hour harvest service to Cestari users.
In 2016, Industrias Metalúrgicas Cestari S.R.L. began installing and marketing tracks for agricultural machinery.
In addition, it introduced tracked hoppers to the market, essential for harvesting on unfavorable soils.
